Nous avons amené 2 véhicules aux essayeurs du magazine Echappement.

Comme vous avez pu le voir il y a quelques semaines, il s’agit des 2 petites sportives françaises du moment : la Clio 4 RS et la 208 GTI.

Ce sont deux concurrentes dans le segment des citadines sportives, équipées d’un moteur 1.6 turbo de 200 cv.

Là où la Peugeot conserve une boite manuelle traditionnelle, la Renault se targue d’une boite robotisée à palettes au volant.

La 208 modifiée par nos soins gagne en souplesse d’utilisation et en tonicité.

Les reprises sont fulgurantes par rapport à l’origine, et les accélérations plus franches.

La Clio gagne un peu moins de couple pour ne pas dépasser la boite de vitesse, mais devient bien plus performante en accélération et encore plus rageuse dans les tours.

Ces sensations se traduisent dans les chiffres mesurés sur l’anneau de vitesse de Montlhery.

Tout y est : reprises, v-max et 1000 m départs arrêtés.
